There is supposed to be an instant connection between a mother and her child. It’s something you can always count on, no matter what.
However, it doesn’t always happen that way, for a variety of reasons.
And whenever this connection doesn’t seem to exist, it causes a lot of trouble. That’s why zoo employees were worried about a panda mother, Min-Min, after giving birth.

As a rule, the baby stays with the mother right after birth, but in her case, zookeepers were concerned about the baby and had to perform tests to check her well-being.
They were aware that this meant that the mother would not be able to bond with the baby, but had to take the risk.
Once they made sure the baby was okay, they put the baby back in the pen and held their breath. At first, there was no big reunion.

Mom ignored the baby. She even turned away from the baby at first.
Fortunately, something finally clicked. Min-Min suddenly establishes the connection and approaches and grabs his little bundle of joy.

She then carries the baby to a corner where she begins by cuddling and loving him, creating a bond between mother and baby for good.
