A puppy named Sammie was in this situation. The poor puppy had been through so much, but fortunately, a dog named Simon was there to help and comfort him.
The photo of the comforting puppies taken at the Rescue Dogs Rock NYC shelter went viral.
The two dogs were rescued weeks apart and in two different shelters, but it didn’t take long for them to befriend.
For a little story, the three-month-old boxer puppy named Sammie was shot, dragged behind a car and spray-painted. The poor puppy suffered a traumatic incident that left him with a gunshot wound, a broken bone and the need for a skin graft.

After Sammie arrived at the animal shelter, Simon, a border collie suffering from scabies and neglect, immediately befriended the puppy.
When the two puppies first met, they immediately became friends.
Sammie was lying on the X-ray table when Simon was let out of his kennel. Simon then walked straight to Sammie and put his paw on the table. The two puppies then touched their noses.

According to Stacey Silverstein, co-founder of Rescue Dogs Rock NYC, dog cleaning seemed to polish an instant consistency.
«The image speaks favorably of itself,» Silverstein swore. «You can envision Simon firming up Sammie. This is a burst that cattle have generosity and that they feel. Simon went to Sammie’s kennel there to firm him up and joke on the back and sit down easily on the back.
During his recovery at the vet, Silverstein says the two formed a strong bond with Simon acting as Sammie’s guardian.

It’s disheartening to think that humans did something like this to the puppy, but at least both dogs are now properly cared for. Thanks to the efforts of Rescue Dogs Rock NYC, both dogs will receive the treatment they desperately need.
Silverstein says she hopes the story will raise awareness of the horrific treatment animals are forced to undergo.
