The first American female cruise captain travels the world with her adorable sphynx cat

LIVING WITH PETS

Some cats are lucky.

Even though they have a reputation for being demanding and difficult to satisfy, it turns out that cats are very good travelers, especially this Sphynx elf named Bug Naked.

Just like other famous animals, Bug Naked lives on the go with Instagram’s famous cruise captain, Kate McCue, who often features the feline on her feed.

McCue herself has a pretty impressive resume in addition to being a social media star.

According to The Telegrapht, McCue has been working for cruise lines for about 13 years and will soon take Celebrity Cruises’ new flagship, Celebrity Edge, as captain.

On top of that, McCue became the first female cruise ship captain in America, according to The Telegraph. «Everyone has a stereotypical idea of a captain and I’m missing a few pounds.

I don’t have entirely gray hair. I don’t have a beard or parrot, but I think when guests meet me, they’re pleasantly surprised,» CBS said of his work.

«I think it’s the best job in the world… traveling, meeting all these people, getting paid for it. It’s unbelievable. McCue told CBS.

And what makes McCue quite unique, aside from breaking glass ceilings, is his open and honest approach to the job.

While some captains prefer to keep some distance from guests, McCue has abandoned the «captain’s table» at dinners and frequently places himself with passengers so anyone can talk to him if they wish, according to The Telegraph.

«Back then, you had these tyrannical captains that you couldn’t talk to unless they talked to you. Over the course of 20 years, I have seen the rounding of the roughness of these people.

Or, if they couldn’t adapt, there was no place for them on board the ships,» she told the Telegraph.
